The MSCI Emerging Markets Index is a share index that uses almost 1,400 shares to reflect the development of the stock exchanges in the most important emerging countries . It is published by the US financial services provider and index provider MSCI .

MSCI classifies the following 26 countries as emerging markets:

The index is made up of the market values ​​of 1385 stocks from these countries (as of July 31, 2020). Titles from the People's Republic of China make up the largest share at around 41%. This is followed by Taiwan with 13%, South Korea with 11%, India with 8% and Brazil with 5%.

The largest industries represented in the index are information technology (18%) and financial companies (18%). The largest individual stocks are (as of July 31, 2020) Alibaba Group (7.5%), Tencent Holdings (6.3%) and TSMC (5.7%).
