MV Comix
MV Comix was a German comic magazine for a young audience that first appeared from 1962 under the title Mickyvision . After the magazine content had increasingly moved away from Disney comics , the series was gradually renamed MV Comix from the mid-1960s (based on the descriptive names from the Asterix comics ) and appeared in this form until 1977.
From 1967 to 1993, the separate second series Mickyvision , now exclusively with Disney comics, was published by the same publisher.
1962–1977: Mickyvision (first series), later MV Comix
Starting in 1962, which brought Ehapa publishing parallel to the weekly Mickey Mouse booklet with Micky vision a second magazine out. Most of them did not publish the Walt Disney stories known from Mickey Mouse magazine ( Micky Mouse , Donald Duck ), but rather Disney's film and television adventure series and other American (e.g. Superman , Zorro ) or German series (e.g. B. Karl May ).
In order to increase the number of readership, Franco-Belgian material was gradually added in 1965 . First the racing driver series Michel Vaillant , Germanized as "Michael Voss" for a long time the main series of the magazine, later also Dan Cooper , Andy Morgan (as "Bernhard Prinz"), Lieutenant Blueberry and - from October 1967 in the successor of Kauka Verlag - as from now on the most important series Asterix . With the increasing thematic distance from the Disney cosmos, the name of the magazine changed from "Neue Mickyvision", "MV Mickyvision 66", "MV 66" to "MV 68" finally from number 35/1968 to "MV Comix". Until 1977, all new Asterix adventures in Germany were pre-published in MV Comix. After the magazine was discontinued, Asterix only appeared as an album release at Ehapa.
At first the magazine appeared monthly, from 1965 to around mid-1967 every two weeks and finally even weekly. At the end of 1968, they reverted to the bi-weekly frequency, which was retained until it was discontinued in the summer of 1977.
1967–1993: Mickyvision (second series)
Under the original name Mickyvision , a monthly magazine appeared from 1967, in which only Disney comics were published. This second Mickey vision , which for a long time had a larger proportion of puzzles and inserts than the regular Mickey Mouse , ran from then on for just over 25 years and was discontinued with the December 1993 issue.
