The most significant change compared to the locomotives of the first type program was the use of cardan shafts instead of the rod drive with jackshaft previously used .
technical features
The axle sequence of the MaK G 500 C is C. The built-in MaK 6 M 282 engine has an output of 390 kW (530 PS) at 1050 rpm. The locomotives were delivered with gearboxes from Voith , the maximum speed is 43 km / h. The service weight is between 55 and 60 tons, depending on the equipment, the tank capacity is 1400 liters.
commitment
Between 1966 and 1975, 22 locomotives of this type were built. The locomotives were mainly delivered to industrial railways, especially to the coal and steel industry. 14 locomotives alone went to Krupp Stahl AG . The Sophia Jacoba union bought three locomotives and Klöckner Stahl GmbH bought two . All but one of the locomotives are still in use.
