The MaK G 700 C is a three-axle diesel - hydraulic locomotive from the manufacturer Maschinenbau Kiel , which is designed for heavy shunting and medium-sized line service. It was built in connection with the MaK G 500 C and was the more powerful of the two types of locomotive. The locomotives have the number 98 80 0263 in the German vehicle settings register.

development

As a further development of the MaK 450 C , this locomotive was built by MaK in Kiel from 1966 , as was the less powerful MaK G 500 C variant . Both have the same dimensions, the MaK G 700 C has a higher engine power, which is achieved by a turbocharger .

The 14 locomotives were preferably delivered to larger companies. They belong to the second generation of MaK and Vossloh locomotives . Compared to the previous generation, they have power transmission via cardan shafts . The designation scheme expresses the type of power transmission, the power program (roughly the engine power in HP) and the axle sequence.

technology

The locomotives are front end locomotives with a longer machine front end and a shorter auxiliary machine front end as well as a central driver's cab.

A six-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine was used as the drive motor. The transmission is the Voith L 4r4 .

commitment

The locomotives were used for shunting and handover services in larger companies, especially in the coal and steel industry . In the meantime some locomotives have been sold to foreign companies. Three locomotives have received an NVR number in the German vehicle registration register : The locomotive with factory number 500057, factory number 500068 and factory number 500075. Most of the locomotives are still available in 2019 despite their age.
