The MacMahon Rock (alternative spelling Mac Mahon Rock ) is a 3 m high cliff rock off the north coast of South Georgia . It is located half a mile east of Dartmouth Point in Cumberland East Bay .
The name of the rock appears for the first time on a map of the British Admiralty from 1930. The background of the name has not survived.
