Mace is an American crossover band from Everett , Washington that formed in 1983, split up in 1989, and reunited in 2012.

history

The band was formed in 1983. The band first appeared on the compilation Metal Massacre V in 1984 with the song Marching Saprophytes . The band consisted of singer and drummer Vence De Rose, guitarist Dave Hillis and bassist Kirk Verhey. In 1985 the debut album Process of Elimination followed , whereupon bassist Verhey took over the vocal role and Shane White played the drums. White left the band a little later, so that on the second album The Evil in Good (1987) David Kopler was represented as the new drummer. In 1989 Colin-Tocquaine (since 1986) the group disbanded. After the band broke up, Hillis worked as a producer for bands like Alice in Chains , Blind Melon and Pearl Jam . In 2012 the group got together again.

style

The band plays a mix of hardcore punk and thrash metal, with songs comparable to those of Agnostic Front and Cryptic Slaughter .
