history

Guitarist JV Hintikka

Machine Men was founded by Jarno Parantainen, Toni Parviainen, Eero Vehniäinen and Jani Noronen as an Iron Maiden association. In autumn 1998 guitarist JV Hell joined the line-up, whereupon the band started composing their own songs. With this line-up, two demos were recorded before the band had to take a break until 2001 because of the military service of several band members.

In December of that year, the band signed a contract with the Finnish record label Dynamic Arts and recorded a self-titled EP , which contains four of their own songs with Aces High and an Iron Maiden cover version. The band then toured extensively in Finland.

In June 2003 the band went back to the studio to record their debut album. Scars and Wounds was released in February 2004. At the end of the year the band began songwriting for their next long player. Machine Men previously joined Century Media .

In August 2005 the album Elegies was released . In addition to nine new songs, it contains the cover version of a solo piece by Bruce Dickinson, Freak . In 2007 the latest album to date followed, Circus of Fools , which reached number eight on the Finnish album charts.

In February 2011 the band broke up.
