The Madagascar Buzzard ( Buteo brachypterus ) is endemic to Madagascar occurring bird of prey from the family of Accipitridae (Accipitridae).

description

Madagascar buzzards reach a size of 40 to 48 centimeters, a weight of 342 to 680 grams and a wingspan of 93 to 111 centimeters. The head is gray-brown in color, the rest of the plumage brown on top. The chest and belly are whitish and irregularly spotted brown. The relatively short control feathers show a brown and white cross-banded pattern. The Madagascar buzzard differs from other buzzard species by the bluish wax skin on the beak and the white-yellow legs. Males and females are similar in color and only differ in size.
