Magdalena Ezoe

Magdalena Ezoe (born March 27, 1931 in Tokyo ) is an American composer and music teacher of Japanese origin.

Ezoe studied composition at the Catholic University of America in Washington and at the University of Michigan . In 1960 she received American citizenship and entered the Adrian Dominican Congregation . From 1954 to 1965 she taught at Dominican High School in Detroit, after which she headed the music department of St. Dominic College until 1968 . From 1971 she taught piano, music theory and history at Siena Heights University in Adrian. In addition to liturgical works, Ezoe composed hymns and songs, instrumental and choral works. She has given piano concerts in the USA and Japan; a concert on the 150th anniversary of Chopin's death was released on CD.
