Magdalena Frey

Magdalena Frey (born March 26, 1963 in Graz ) is an Austrian photographer and video artist. Her focus is on the life and work of women in society with a focus on female role models and clichés.

Life

Frey is a trained nurse and began her career as a photographer as a self-taught artist. Since 1985 she has addressed the appearance of femininity in a series of pictures. In 1996 she began to digitally post-process her works.

Frey lives and works in Vienna and Ladendorf . She is married to the photographer Heinz Cibulka .
