Magic refers to a type of amusement ride that was built in 1989 by the manufacturer HUSS Maschinenfabrik (now Huss Park Attractions ) from Bremen. Since then, it can be found in a portable version at public festivals or permanently installed in amusement parks.

construction

The ride consists of four arms, each of which has gondola crosses with three additional arms. At the end of this boom hang the gondolas, each with four seats, which can swing freely around their axis. The gondolas can be prevented from swinging freely by means of a brake. During the journey, the main drive of the four booms moves clockwise, while the gondola crosses move in the opposite direction. A lifting ring in the middle section ensures that the four main booms move up and down.

Driving style

The way the Magic is operated varies greatly depending on the parking space and operator. In amusement parks, a gentle driving style is usually chosen, as they are in continuous operation seasonally and thus the wear and tear on the individual components is higher than with traveling rides of this type. When the drives are fully utilized, the booms reach a speed of 18 revolutions per minute.

Types

The Magic in action

In the period from 1989 to 2000, a total of 15 examples of this type of ride were manufactured and delivered. Depending on the origin, it is either a Magic Type No. 1 , No. 2 , or No. 3 , whereby essential elements of the rides do not differ (first built Magic = type No. 1, second built Magic = type No. 2 etc.).
