Magni and modes

Magni and Modi ( Old Norse Magni ok Móði "the strong and the angry" or "strength and courage") are two sons of the god Thor and the giantess Jarnsaxa in Norse mythology . Her half sister is Thrud . As his sons, Magni and Modi represent the personified characteristics of Thor.

At the age of 3 nights, Magni freed his father, who was lying wounded under the leg of the dead giant Hrungnir after the sir had previously failed. As a thank you Magni Gullfaxi received “Goldmähne”, the giant's magnificent horse. In the post- Ragnarök era , in the renewed world, Magni and Modi inherit Mjöllnir , their father Thor's hammer.

Magni og Móði is the name given to the two volcanic cones that were created in 2010 by the volcanic eruption on the Icelandic plateau of Fimmvörðuháls .
