Magog was a German pagan metal - band from Pirna , Saxony . The name comes from the homeland of the biblical Prince Gog . This is interpreted by the band "as a symbol for enmity with the Christian God Yahweh ". The band members are politically right-wing extremist circles.

biography

Magog was founded by Andhrimnir, Matthias "Krieger" Wego and Sebastian "Arr" Oehme. Wego and Oehme previously played in the right-wing rock band 14 Nothelfer . Drummer Jörg “Zorrn” Hermann, who had played with Psykra, Wolfswinter and Kraftschlag up to now, only joined them at a later point in time . Lyrically sang Magog primarily anti-Christian and pro- pagan ideas. On their debut, the band describes their style as "Unholy German Black Metal for Aryan People" ( Engl. For, Unholy German Black Metal for Aryan People '). Such lyrics paired with the active participation of the members in various right-wing rock bands meant that Magog were sometimes included in the spectrum of so-called National Socialist Black Metal .

The debut album of the same name Magog was released as a record on the Hagal Records label in 2000 . A new edition, which also contained the song Wolfseuge from a Split-7 " released in 2002 with the band Frostkrieg , was released by Ewiges Eis Records, the label of Totenburg singer Jens" Asemit "Fröhlich . All other CDs were released by Christhunt Productions , the first release there was another pressing of the Split 7 "with Frostkrieg.

Andhrimnir, Krieger and Arr founded the band Todfeind after Magog's first dissolution and were also members of Obskur, whose guitar-playing featured Magog bonds. Zorrn is still involved in Power Strike and Camulos . When they reunited in 2009, Zorrn was replaced by “health and private problems” by Vargsvrede, who was also the drummer for the Saxon band Annihilation 666 and Obskur. Ultimately, however, the band was unable to resume work satisfactorily. At the beginning of 2011 a new dissolution was announced.
