Mahapanya Vidayalai
Mahapanya Vidayalai (MPV) ( Thai มหา ปัญญา วิทยาลัย , RTGS Maha Panya Witthayalai , translated as College of Wisdom ) is an international Buddhist college in Hat Yai , Songkhla Province , southern Thailand .
history
The school was founded in 2002 by the Patriarch of the Anamnikaya (a Mahayana sect from Vietnam ), Oou Joo Heng , with the support of Somdet Phrabuddhacaya, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand belonging to the Theravada movement .
General
Mahapanya Vidayalai is associated with Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University . The MPV thus represents a remarkable collaboration and unity between the schools of Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism in Thailand. A high school education as well as an international bachelor's degree in Buddhist teaching, in particular that of Mahayana Buddhism, is currently offered. The language of instruction is English, and the students come from various Asian countries. The director of the MPV is Phrakru Biboonpariyatisunthorn, while Chatkaew Gajaseni is responsible for the organizational and commercial management.
location
The Mahapanya Vidayalai site is located in Hat Yai across from the Prince of Songkla University campus . The statue of Bodhisattva Kshitigarbha and the " Pagoda of the Nine Steps to Peace" are the symbols of Mahapanya Vidayalai and can be seen from all over the city.
