Maharan Lala (born March 7, 1982 in Isfiya ) is an Israeli football player . He has been playing for Hapoel Haifa since 2012 in the Ligat ha'Al , the highest Israeli division.

Career

Lala began his professional career at Maccabi Sha'arayim, a club in the fourth division of Israel. In 2004 he moved to Hapoel Herzlia, with whom he reached seventh place in the Artzit League, the third division of Israel, in his first season. In the following season, the move to Hapoel Bnei Tamra came, again a league lower. With the club he made it to the Artzit League. There they finished third in the first season, seven points behind the promotion places.

In 2006/07 the striker made another career leap. With the move to Maccabi Ahi Nazareth, he was able to rise to the second highest Israeli league, the Liga Leumit. With the places eight and ninth in the seasons 2006/07 and 2007/08 as well as good performances Lala recommended for the top division of Israel. With the move to Hapoel Tel Aviv came the breakthrough for the Israeli. In his first season at Hapoel, the club was runner-up. With the runner-up title, the club was able to qualify for the UEFA Europa League , where they surprisingly won the group in 2009/10 with teams like Hamburger SV , SK Rapid Wien or Celtic Glasgow . Lala played in all group games, scoring one goal each in the games against Celtic Glasgow and SK Rapid Vienna. Against Celtic it was even the decisive goal for the 2-1 success in the 88th minute.
