Mahbubnagar is a city in the Indian state of Telangana .

The city is the capital of the Mahbubnagar district of the same name . Mahbubnagar has the status of a municipality. The city is divided into 10 wards (constituencies).

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, the population of the city is 157,733 and that of the metropolitan area is 210,258. Mahbubnagar has a gender ratio of 992 women per 1000 men and thus a male surplus that is usual for India. The literacy rate was 83.96% in 2011. Almost 64% of the population are Hindus , around 34% are Muslims and around 2% belong to another or no religion. 11.4% of the population are children under 6 years of age.

Infrastructure
