Maija Parnas (Russian: Майя Ивановна Парнас; born May 15, 1974 in Tiraspol , Moldovan SSR ) is a Transnistrian politician. In 2015 she was acting Prime Minister of the internationally unrecognized country of Transnistria .

Life

After completing a law degree in Tiraspol in 1997, she completed a degree in economics at the Moscow Academy of Entrepreneurship and Law, which she graduated in 2009. From 2003 to 2012 she held various positions in the Supreme Council of Transnistria .

On March 29, 2012, she was appointed Minister for Economic Development and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Development and Finance. On November 28, 2013, by decree of the president, she was appointed first vice-chairman of the Transnistrian government. On December 2, 2015, by decree of the Transnistrian President Yevgeny Shevchuk, she was appointed acting chairman of the government, succeeding Tatiana Turanskaya . On December 23, 2015, she was replaced by Pawel Prokudin .

Maija Parnas is married and has two children.

Awards and honors

She received the certificate of the Transnistrian Supreme Soviet, the certificate of the president, the Order of Glory of Work (Трудовая слава) and the medal of 20 years of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic .
