Maike Hilbig
Maike Hilbig (* 1981 in Nuremberg ) is a German jazz musician ( double bass , composition ).

Hilbig studied jazz at the Nuremberg University of Music. In 2005 she moved to Berlin, from where she has been active ever since. With the group Vorwärts Rückwärts , a collaborative trio with trombonist Gerhard Gschlößl and cellist Johannes Fink , she has released two albums, most recently in 2019 Rewarding Environment . She plays with Silke Eberhard in the duo Matsch und Schnee (album of the same name on Trouble in the East ). She also led a quartet with the vibraphonist Izabella Effenberg . She can also be heard on albums with Chiffchaff and with the Finnish singer-songwriter Mäkkelä
