Maiyanur ( Tamil : மையனூர் Maiyaṉūr [ ˈmai̯jənuːr ]) is a village in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu .

Maiyanur is located around 230 kilometers southwest of Chennai in the Viluppuram district . The village belongs to the Taluk (sub-district) Sankarapuram. The next largest cities are Sankarapuram 13 kilometers west, Kallakurichi 22 kilometers south and Rishivandiyam 29 kilometers southeast. The district capital Viluppuram is around 70 kilometers to the east.

According to the 2011 Indian census, Maiyanur has around 3,200 inhabitants. 88 percent of the working population are employed in agriculture. The literacy rate is 77 percent. In the vicinity of Maiyanur there are St. Michael's Primary School (1st to 5th grade) and the Kulandai Yesu High School (6th to 10th grade). Qualifications from the latter school are accepted by the Indian state, but the school is not sponsored by the state.
