MAKA Systems GmbH (formerly MAKA - Max Mayer Maschinenbau) is a Bavarian company that produces CNC machines for wood, aluminum, plastic processing and model making. The company was founded in 1952. Around 130 employees stayed with the company after a severe crisis in 2010. The company was taken over by the investment company Prolimity Capital Partners and put back on the road to success. The company's headquarters are in Nersingen, Bavaria . After the takeover by Prolimity, the Burlafingen location will be gradually abandoned and integrated into the headquarters. MAKA has had its own branch in Great Britain since 1998 in order to further expand the European sales and service network.

Company history

The idea of ​​the company's founder, Max Mayer senior, to make manual work in carpentry easier with the help of machines, led to the patenting of the "swing chisel chisel" in 1952 and the establishment of Max Mayer Maschinenbau GmbH.

In 1980 the company made the step into the CNC age. The market development led to an expansion of the fields of activity in the aluminum and plastics industry . 1982 the branch in Herford founded.

MAKA GmbH was founded in 1992, specializing in the import, sales and service of standard joinery machines.

In 1997 the establishment of a sales and service partner for the aluminum, plastics and wood processing sectors in the USA begins .

In 1998 the English subsidiary MAKA Machinery UK LTD was founded, completing the European sales network. Certification according to ISO 9001 took place in the same year.

In 2004 the company received the environmental award of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) as a partner of the Thermoface network.

On March 8, 2010, the company filed for bankruptcy with the Neu-Ulm District Court. Martin Hörmann from Ulm was appointed as insolvency administrator.

On June 25, 2010, the investment company Prolimity Capital Partners took over MAKA and runs the company as MAKA Systems GmbH.

On October 24, 2013, the investors Thomas Rubbe and Paul Lerbinger , formerly CEO of HSH Nordbank , took over the company.

On September 12, 2016, Dr. Jens Muckli joined MAKA Systems GmbH in Nersingen and, as the second managing director, will be responsible for the further expansion of business activities together with the previous managing director Klaus Kern.
