Paul Lerbinger

Paul Lerbinger (born December 16, 1955 in Oberstaufen ) is a German bank manager . From April 2011 to October 2012 he was CEO of HSH Nordbank .

Life

After studying business administration in Germany and the United States , which he with the level of 1981 Diplom-Kaufmann graduated, Paul Lerbinger 1984 PhD from the University of Munich with a bank management issue for Dr. rer. pole.

Initially employed in the finance department of BMW , Paul Lerbinger switched to investment banking at JP Morgan in 1987 . After holding positions at other investment banks, he took up a position at Citigroup in 2002, serving as its deputy chairman from 2007 until he left the company in 2010.

In March 2011, Paul Lerbinger moved to HSH Nordbank, where he was appointed CEO on April 1, 2011 as the successor to Dirk Jens Nonnenmacher . On October 17, 2012 it was announced that Paul Lerbinger would step down on October 31, 2012 after only 19 months in office, which was confirmed in the Supervisory Board meeting on October 24, 2012. His successor was Constantine of Austria .

His resignation was perceived as surprising by large parts of the public. The reasons given by the press were the slow progress in restructuring and the company's ongoing high losses.

After his departure, Paul Lerbinger appeared as an investor, including at the Bavarian mechanical engineering company Maka Systems, and as a member of the supervisory board of various listed companies.
