Makalom is a very small uninhabited island in the southeastern Temotu province of the Solomon Islands . It belongs to the outer islands of the Reef Islands in the northern area of ​​the Santa Cruz Islands .

The island is about 5 km west of Pileni . It is only 350 m long and 60 m wide. Makalom is enclosed by an oval reef that is 2.5 km long and 1.5 km wide.
