Makareus
Makareus ( Latin Macareus ) comes from the island of Ithaca and is a companion of Odysseus . In Ovid's Metamorphoses he tells his companion Achaimenides (Latin Achaemenides ) about Odysseus' adventures: the encounter with Aiolos , the Laistrygonen , Kirke and his own transformation through Kirke into a pig and his transformation back.
Makareus is not mentioned in Homer's Odyssey .
