railroad

A branch of the Transgabonais was originally planned with a terminus in Makokou, but the planned route was rejected for political reasons when the price of iron from the nearby iron mine fell. However, there are already plans that the route will be expanded in 2006 to open up other mines in Mbala , Cameroon . A new deep water port in Santa Clara would be part of this project.
