La Mala Rodríguez
María Rodríguez , called La Mala , La Mala María or Mala Rodríguez (born February 13, 1979 in Jerez de la Frontera , Cádiz ) is a Spanish hip-hop singer who has been active since 1996. Her rapped songs are heavily influenced by flamenco . In her texts she talks about feminism , social problems and love, among other things .
Life
In 1983 her family moved to Seville ; In 1998 she went to Madrid . Two years later, she released her first solo album entitled Lujo ibérico .
In 2003 she published her second solo album Alveosía on Universal Music Spain.
After about 4 years at a distance from the previous album, Malamarismo was released on January 1, 2007 , also via Universal. The album contained the 2006 single Por la noche as a bonus track .
In 2008 she was a guest on the MTV Unplugged recording by Julieta Venegas .
In 2009 she worked with Nelly Furtado on a song for their first full Spanish-language album.
On August 24, 2010, her fourth solo album, Dirty Bailarina , was released, from which the two singles No pidas perdón (May 24, 2010) and Un corazón (September 28, 2010) were released. The first single made it into the top 30 of the Spanish singles charts.
With Bruja (Witch), Rodríguez's fifth solo work hit physical and digital stores on June 18, 2013 after 3 years.
Rodríguez has announced a new album for 2019, from which the singles Egoísta (2015), Gitanas (2018) and Contigo (2018) have already been extracted.
