Malaba is a city with 10,300 inhabitants (S 2002) in eastern Uganda in the Tororo district on the border with Kenya .

The city is located on the main road between Kampala and Nairobi approximately 232 kilometers east of the Ugandan capital.

Malaba is a town with a market, has a railroad crossing to Kenya and is 10 kilometers southeast of the city of Tororo . Due to its border location, it is a busy trading place. In 2005 it was the second most important border crossing after Kenya to Busia . A special tax is levied on institutions located in the erotic sector (brothels, etc.) as well as people who work there or as freelancers such as prostitutes and callboys.
