The Malachite Lake is an oval lake on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . In the Larsemann Hills it lies 1.2 km west of Blundell Peak in an ice-free valley on the Stornes peninsula .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1988. It is named after the color of its water, which is reminiscent of that of the mineral malachite .
