Malcolm Erskine, 17th Earl of Buchan
Malcolm Harry Erskine, 17th Earl of Buchan (born July 4, 1930 ), is a British peer and politician. From 1960 to 1984 he held the courtesy title of Lord Cardross .
life and career
Erskine is the second son of Donald Erskine, 16th Earl of Buchan . His older brother died at the age of five. Erskine attended Eton College . In 1957 he married Hilary Diana Cecil Power. The couple have four children, two sons and two daughters.
In 1972 Erskine became a Justice of the Peace in Westminster . Erskine inherited the title of 17th Earl of Buchan , 17th Lord Auchterhouse , 12th Lord Cardross and 8th Baron Erskine when his father died in 1984 . Pending the House of Lords reform on 11 November 1999 he was due to the title in the House of Lords .
