Malcolm Max

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malcolm Max is the title and main character of a series of German-language radio plays and comics . The figure was invented by the author Peter Mennigen .

content

The series is about the demon hunter Malcolm Max, who lived in Victorian London in the late 19th century and fought against the supernatural in the service of the secret lodge “Custodes Lucis” ( Guardian of the Light ). He is supported by the half-vampire Charisma.

The first seven radio plays form the “Black Angels” cycle, in which Malcolm and Charisma get to know each other and Malcolm's origins are revealed. The first comic is located after the radio plays.

background

In 2008 the Tigerpress publishing house was planning a new edition of the comic Ghost Stories , for which they wanted to produce a series of radio plays as a supplement to the magazine. The author Peter Mennigen was commissioned with the development of a corresponding series, whereby he was given extensive freedom in design. Mennigen then came up with the figure of Malcolm Max.

After only published two Malcolm Max radio plays, Tigerpress closed in 2009, the rights to the character remained with the author. The publisher Joachim Otto from Verlag Romantruhe contacted Graceland Studio, which had produced the first two radio plays, and expressed interest in continuing the series. Since 2011, new radio plays by Malcom Max have been published as part of the Geister-Schocker series by Romantruhe Audio. Three audio books were published as supplements to the radio plays.

The first comic from the Malcolm Max series was published by Splitter-Verlag on March 1, 2013 . As with the radio plays, the author is Peter Mennigen, the drawings are by Ingo Römling .
