The Malek Ashtar University of Technology ( MUT ; Persian دانشگاه صنعتی مالک اشتر) is an Iranian university founded in 1986. Its headquarters are in Shahinshahr , a satellite city designed on the drawing board , 15 km north of Isfahan .

MUT has been divided into seven faculties since 1999. Among other things, the nuclear physicist Schahram Amiri , who is said to have been involved in the Iranian nuclear program and who disappeared in June 2009 on a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia under previously unexplained circumstances, did research at the university .
