Jussara Marques (* 1931 in Itumbiara ; † February 24, 2006 in Rio de Janeiro ) was elected Miss Brazil on June 2, 1949. She prevailed against twelve competitors in Petrópolis . She remained the Brazilian beauty queen for five years because the next appointment was not carried out until 1954 in a new competition with a changed electoral process. To this day she is the only Miss Brasil from Goiás . Today, appointments made before 1954 are no longer part of the official Miss Brasil election.

In 1950, in her honor, the Goian community Água Limpa changed its name to Jussara .

Jussara Marques, whose name was spelled differently in the media of the time, such as B. Jussara Marquez, with "z" at the end, was the daughter of Isaura de Souza Martins and Ormides Martins de Souza and was born in Itumbiara , Goiás .

In the second half of 1954 she married the banker Marcellin de Amorim. The marriage had four children.

She died on February 24, 2006 at the age of 75 from complications from lung cancer.
