Malformed Earthborn was an American industrial metal and noise band that was formed in 1992 and disbanded around 1995.
history
The band was formed in summer 1992 and was a side project of musicians Shane Embury ( Napalm Death ), Dan Lilker ( Nuclear Assault , Anthrax , Brutal Truth ) and Scott Lewis (Brutal Truth). In 1995 the album Defiance of the Ugly by the Merely Repulsive was released . However, the album received little response, whereupon the band broke up after the release.
style
According to Eduardo Rivadavia from Allmusic , the group draws its influences from industrial metal bands such as Ministry and Godflesh , noise rock bands such as Swans and from speed metal , which resulted in the aggressive but danceable album Defiance of the Ugly by the Merely Repulsive be. Joel McIver wrote in his book Extreme Metal II that the album features industrial metal with influences from techno . Martin Popoff reviewed in his book The Collector's Guide of Heavy Metal Volume 3: The Nineties Defiance of the Ugly by the Merely Repulsive and stated that it can only be meant as a joke and that hardly anyone is willing to write the entire album in one piece to hear through, as it is way too long and too strange. He noticed influences from crustcore , grindcore and industrial . There are even more extreme distortions in the songs than with musicians like Merzbow .
