Malika Mokeddem (born October 5, 1949 in Kénadsa , Algeria ) is an Algerian doctor and writer .

biography

Malika Mokeddem is the daughter of a nomad family . She studied in Oran and Paris . In 1979 she went to Montpellier to begin a specialist training as a nephrologist . From 1989 to 1995 she was a doctor in the immigrant district of Montpellier. In 1985 she began her writing career as a migration author. She brought out eight novels, two of which were autobiographical.
