The Mallemukken (Y385) was an auxiliary ship of the Danish Navy . As Ahti (A431), the ship was later used by the Estonian Navy and belonged to the anti-mine division ( Miinilaevade Divisjon ).

history

The later Ahti was built as a Maagen class ship in 1960 in Denmark for the navy and put into service by the latter as Mallemukken . After decommissioning in 1991, it was given to the Estonian Navy as a gift in 1994. It was the first ship of the country's newly established naval forces and the first ship that the Danish Navy handed over to another country.

When the former Lindormen as Tasuja (also from the Danish Navy) was taken over in 2006 , it was already intended to replace the Ahti . In the meantime, the ship was also decommissioned, but apparently used again and again until 2009.

Second term of service (Estonian Navy)

On March 29, 1994, the ship, under the name Ahti (A431), was put back into service in Estonia. The new ship name was derived from the Nordic god of the sea, Ahti , and was previously used by the Estonian Navy.

tasks

  • Platform for missions and training of the EOD Tuukrigrupp

Mishaps

In May 1999, negligence resulted in overpumping and therefore fuel spilling during refueling at the Estonian navy base. However, since the tide was low at this time, the hazardous substance could be collected quickly.
