Malos

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malos ( Greek Μᾶλος Málos ) is a king of Epidaurus in Greek mythology .

According to Stephanos of Byzantium , he is the son of Amphictyon or an Amyros from Boeotia and the namesake of the city of Malieus (Greek Μαλιεύς ).

In the hymn to Isyllos of Epidauros he is king of Epidauros, the husband of the muse Erato and father of Klyomena . He is described as the founder of the cult of Apollon Maleatas . It is therefore assumed that Malos was an epidauric invention to explain the cult name Apollon Maleatas .
