The Malyshev factory ( Ukrainian Завод ім. В. О. Малишева , German transcription : Sawod im. WO Malyschewa , Russian Завод имени Малышева ) is a mechanical engineering and armaments company in the Ukrainian city ​​of Kharkiv .

The factory was established in 1895 as Kharkov Locomotive Factory (shortly ХПЗ Russian Харьковский паровозостроительный завод, the Germans also Lokomotivfabrik Kharkov ) and existed under that name until 1922. In that year she was in Kharkov locomotive plant called Comintern (Russian mostly short as ХПЗ имени Коминтерна) renamed. In 1939, as an armaments factory, the plant was given the code name Maschinenbauwerk Nr. 183 and was relocated to Nizhny Tagil in the Urals in 1941 due to the Russian campaign of the Wehrmacht . It has only been named after Vyacheslav Malyshev since 1957 .

In addition to numerous prototypes of locomotives, tractors and tanks, the plant also produced the Kharkovchanka snow vehicle .
