The Mambilima Falls of the Luapula River are located at an altitude of 972 m just south of the Musonda Falls and north of the town of Mansa in the Luapula Province in Zambia in the Kawambwa District on the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

The actual waterfall is the Mambatutafall behind which the river in a narrow bed northward meanders while flows over a distance of five kilometers in a series of rapids, known Mambilimafällen, in a densely populated floodplains that of mango trees and Kassavafeldern is marked . The seemingly endless ribbon of white water rapids and the rapid current make these falls so impressive. In the nearby town of Mambilima Mission there is a school and hospital as well as an airstrip.
