Kawambwa
Kawambwa is a town of 20,000 inhabitants in the province of Luapula in Zambia . It is 1,300 meters above sea level and is the seat of the administration of the district of the same name with 102,503 inhabitants (2000 census).

Kawambwa lies above the fertile marshes and floodplains of the Luapula just before its confluence with the Mweru lake . The region around Kawambwa is dominated by agriculture. tourism
Nine kilometers off the road from Kawambwa to Mporokoso are the Lumangwe Falls on the Kalungwishi River and a little further downstream the multi-tiered Kabweluma Falls . The Lumangwe Falls can be reached quite easily via an unpaved road, there is a tourist lodge there. The river banks are covered with rainforest-like vegetation. The Kabweluma Falls are more difficult to reach (bad slope, approx. 1 km walk).
