Mamoutou Camara (* 1960 in Kéniéba in the Kayes region , Mali ; † September 29, 2010 in Bamako ), called Mangala , was a Malian musician and singer.

He was born the son of a merchant who served in the French army and an actress and dancer. He spent 18 years of his career in France, the cornerstone of which he laid at the age of eleven with his first musical experience in the regional orchestra. During this time five albums were released. In 2001 he returned to Africa.

Awarded the Prix ​​Découvertes by RFI in 1986 , he was part of the Donké project in 1988 , which brought out the album "Paris - Bamako". In 1992 he founded the group African Sofa with five friends and was later part of the Ambassadeurs . His most famous song is "Minyé Minyé". He died on September 29, 2010 in the Hôpital Gabriel Touré in Bamako.
