Mamporal is a village in the Venezuelan state of Miranda , the administrative seat of the Buroz district. The village was founded on January 16, 1738 in a region with numerous cocoa plantations. The name Mamporal is said to be an Indian word for an endemic plant. The region has about 20,908 inhabitants.
