Katchang is a town in the West African state of Gambia .
According to a calculation for 2013, around 1630 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 1751.
geography
Katchang is located in the North Bank Region in the Upper Baddibu District . The place is about 6.3 kilometers south of Illiassa .
The Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve lies to the west of the village and to the south lies the Katchang Point at the mouth of the Katchang Bolong .
