General election in Norway 1906
The parliamentary elections in Norway in 1906 took place on October 24, 1906. It was the election for the 33rd storting .
This election was the first election under the new electoral law: the electorate was abolished and the electorate was elected directly by the electorate in the relevant constituency. The number of MPs was increased from 117 to 123.
Election result
The loser in the election was the gathering party ( Norwegian Samlingspartiet ), which lost 22 seats. All other parties previously represented in the Storting were able to win seats. The Venstre was even able to gain 24 seats, replacing the rallying party as the strongest parliamentary group and holder of the absolute majority.
The Storting was made up of the same four parliamentary groups as in the previous legislative period .
