General election in Norway in 1924
The parliamentary elections in Norway in 1924 took place on October 21, 1924. It was the choice for the 39th storting .
Election result
The winner of the election was the Communist Party (NKP), founded in 1923, which moved into Storting for the first time with 6.1% and six MPs . With the new entry of the NKP, the number of parties represented in the Storting increased from six to seven.
The largest parliamentary group was again able to provide the conservative electoral alliance from Høyre and Frisinnede Venstre , despite slight losses . The second and third largest parliamentary groups, the liberal Venstre and the Social Democratic Labor Party (Ap), also suffered losses. The losses of the Social Democrats (moderate split from the Ap) and Radical People's Party were not reflected in the loss of seats.
