General election in Norway in 1969
The parliamentary elections in Norway in 1969 took place on September 8, 1969. It was the election for the 50th storting .
The turnout was 83.8 percent. In some municipalities it was also possible to vote on September 7th.
The opposition Labor Party was able to gain significantly. At the same time, the People's Socialist Party lost so much that it missed re-entry into parliament. The bourgeois majority from Høyre , Christian People's Party , Center and Liberals was thus just confirmed. The Borten government remained in office.
In order to avoid a stalemate between the left and right camp in the future, it was decided to enlarge the parliament by five seats from 1973 onwards.
