Man Group plc is a UK provider of alternative investment products . The company offers hedge funds for private and institutional investors. The group has its headquarters in London , is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is part of the FTSE 250 index .

history

The company's history goes back to 1783 and started with a brokerage business by James Man .

In 1994 the company went public in London and in 2000 it changed its company from ED&F Man Group plc to Man Group plc . In October 2010 the company took over GLG Partners Inc. and in 2012 the competitor FRM. At the end of 2013, Man had assets of 54.1 billion US dollars under management and 1163 employees worldwide. The Man Group has offices in London , Pfäffikon (Switzerland), New York , Dubai , Hong Kong , Tokyo and Sydney .

The Man Group sponsors the Man Booker Prize .
