Manfred Ammon

Manfred Ammon (born November 21,  1944 in West Prussia ) is a former German basketball player .

career

In 1963 he became German champion with the A-youth of MTV Wolfenbüttel .

Ammon, like his brother Peter, was part of the Wolfenbüttel team, which was there in the premier season of the basketball Bundesliga , 1966/67, and for years belonged to the first division team of Lower Saxony, with which he also competed in the European Cup.

Professionally, he worked as a teacher and was headmaster for years. In 1976 he moved to  the city council of Wolfenbüttel for the CDU for the first time , from September 2000 he was deputy council chairman and from November 2011 first deputy mayor. In October 1996 Ammon received the golden ring of honor from the city of Wolfenbüttel. In 2016, Ammon became an honorary citizen of Wolfenbüttel.
