Manfred Finckh

Manfred Finckh (born April 10, 1963 in Hamburg ) is a German geoecologist and scientist at the University of Hamburg.

Life

Finckh studied at the University of Bayreuth and began a DAAD short-term lectureship in Chile in 1991 . He then became a research assistant at the Department of Biogeography at the University of Bayreuth and received his doctorate there in 1995. Several teaching and research stays in Chile followed, including a. he was a lecturer in physical geography at the Departamento de Ciencias Sociales of the Universidad de La Frontera , Temuco , Chile.

From 2000 to 2006 he was lead scientist in the IMPETUS project. Since March 2010 he has been Scientific Coordinator at SASSCAL at the University of Hamburg . He coordinates research in the The Future Okavango project for the University of Hamburg.
