Manfred Graetz

Manfred Graetz (* 1946 in Gorschmitz ) is a former German politician . From 1993 to 2008 he was the District Administrator of the Döbeln (Saxony) district, which in 2008 became the Central Saxony district together with the Mittweida and Freiberg districts .

Career

After training as a toolmaker , Graetz began studying engineering at the Technical University of Dresden in 1966 . After receiving his doctorate in 1974, he became head of department at VEB Döbelner Hardware and Metal Works (VEB DBM).

From 1990 he worked as the first assistant to the department head for economy and environment in the district office Döbeln.

His political career began in 1990 when he joined the CDU . In 1993 he was elected district administrator of the Döbeln district and confirmed in this office in 1994 and 2001. After the formation of the Central Saxony district, Graetz became the first alderman and deputy of the district administrator. Graetz retired on December 1, 2014.
