Manfred II. (Saluzzo)
Manfred II. Del Vasto (* 1140 ; † 1215 ) from the Aleramide family was Margrave of Saluzzo from 1175/76 to 1215. Manfred followed his father Manfred I after his death as Margrave of Saluzzo. He expanded his territory and fought against the neighboring Counts of Savoy , with whom a peace was reached in 1213. Since his son Boniface died in 1212, his grandson Manfred III followed him after his death in 1215 . who was under the tutelage of his grandmother Adelasia until he came of age.
family
He married Adelasia (Azalaïs) of Montferrat († 1215) in 1182 , a daughter of Margrave Wilhelm V of Montferrat and Judith of Austria, a daughter of Margrave Leopold III. The couple had four children:
- Agnes († 1212) ∞ Comita Giudice of Torres († 1218)
- Bonifatius († 1212) ∞ (1202) Maria, daughter of Comita Giudice von Torres
- Margarete († after 1233) ∞ Gottfried von Salvaing
- Daughter ∞ Wilhelm II. Margrave of Ceva
