Manfred J. Hampe

Manfred J. Hampe (born January 5, 1952 in Oberhausen ) is a German mechanical and process engineer .

He is a professor at the Institute for Thermal Process Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt . His field of work includes transport processes , Marangoni effects , drying of paper and coated paper, molecular dynamics and permeation of salt rock and clay formations for the underground storage of nuclear waste .

Professor Hampe played a key role in organizing the introduction of the Bachelor / Master course at TUD. In 2013 he received the Ars legendi Prize for excellent university teaching .
